At a certain point you have to say, those attackers just aren’t good enough. It’s one thing to put a ball on target but if you consistently waste great chances, it’s not wasteful, it’s just not talented enough.

Nunez with 119 shots and only 11 goals in the league. This is two seasons of not consistently finishing off chances. He’s not good enough. Diaz is not good enough, and Salah is washed.

Has Salah beaten a defender one on one in hold up play a single time this season?

Salah was great the first half of the season. He’s currently 2nd in the league in goals+assists and tied for 3rd in goals. He hasn’t been the same since his injury at AFCON and that’s been a huge issue for our recent struggles

Also, Connor Bradley was not bad by any means but so many times over the years when we couldn’t find the back of the net, Trent would provide a game changing cross or pass that would lead to a goal. We have missed that threat immensely

Darwin and Diaz are both good enough to be regulars in a starting 11 but they’ve been playing in basically every game and Jota’s injury + Gakpo not being great hasn’t given us any help in terms of depth options

Endo also hasn’t been great at all since returning from his injury and Szobo was immense the first half of the season and hasn’t been nearly at that level the 2nd half

The most concerning thing to me has been the defense. And it doesn’t make sense because VVD has had a great season and Konate is definitely good enough to start next to him. You could point to Klopp’s tactics but just a few years ago when we were making CL finals and winning the league our defense was extremely dependable, so what has changed?

It’ll be very interesting to see who the new manager wants to keep.
