Bauxite (Ark.) safety Marcus Wimberly has committed to Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks for the Class of 2025. Wimberly, 6-1, 180, went public with his decision to call the Hogs following Saturday's Hogwild Hangout event in Fayetteville, which wrapped up at approximately 4 p.m.

"First off, I want to thank God for this opportunity," Wimberly said in a tweet. "This was a decision I delayed for a long time, because I needed God's confirmation. This morning he provided me with that confirmation and I thank him for every blessing and for his grace and mercy. I would also like to thank my parents and my family as a whole. They are great supporters and have my best interest at heart in everything I do. Last but not least, I want to thank all the coaches that have been there and helped develop me as a player and a young man along the way. With that being said, I am 1000% committed to the University of Arkansas!! WPS"

Wimberly, who was offered by the Razorbacks after an impressive camp performance in June, is the Hogs' second commitment for the Class of 2025, joining in-state quarterback Grayson Wilson of Central Arkansas Christian.

Wimberly chose to stay at home over scholarship offers from Michigan, Memphis, Sam Houston State, UAPB and UT-Martin. He was recruited to Fayetteville by defensive backs coaches Marcus Woodson and Deron Wilson.

The in-state product has yet to receive a ranking by 247Sports.

Arkansas gained its second commitment in the class of 2025 on Saturday with the addition of Bauxite athlete Marcus Wimberly.

Wimberly was on Arkansas' campus during the Hogwild Hangout Saturday and later made the announcement on his Twitter account.

Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman extended an offer to Wimberly on June 17 at a summer football camp. Shortly after, he picked up an offer from Michigan. He also holds offers from Memphis, Sam Houston State and others.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete plays multiple positions in the high school ranks and is projected to play defense for Arkansas. His father, Tommy, is the head football coach at Bauxite.

With Wimberly's commitment, Arkansas stands at two in the class of 2025. He joins three-star quarterback Grayson Wilson, who committed on April 15.
