I love football and I’m looking for reasons to get behind this.
What say you?

It wasn’t bad. Went to the Renegades game today and had a great time

The games are entertaining
There is some talent in this league
It helps that Jontre Kirklin is tearing it up and he’s a recent Tigah

Haven’t watched the first second.

I'm not going to follow it closely but it is absolutely a good option to put on my TV when I'm bored on a Sunday.
I like it.

It’s solid football in a pretty dead period on the sports calendar through this week. Same for the USFL, but the host site business takes a lot away from the atmosphere.
The problem is am I going to watch it over March Madness or the NHL playoffs?
Probably not.

Been trying but it’s just meh. It’s on at the bar but I’m barely watching.

Not watching it. As long as the SEC, Big Ten, ACC and so on are the minor league for the NFL I have no interest in it.
At least the USFL back in the 80s challenged the NFL for talent. I'd rather watch the best golfers and the NHL and NBA until June than guys who are minor leaguers.

I like aspects of it but they have to get out of the converted baseballs stadiums in Arlington and Las Vegas. Yes I understand they are getting those venues for cheap but holy shite they look like crap on TV.

Today's St Louis DC game was super entertaining.
The last minute alone was completely bonkers.

The only problem with both the USFL and the XFL is talent. Both leagues have set themselves up as extensions of the NFL practice squad. There’s no “stealing” of talent from the NFL, so they figure they will help the NFL develop their scraps.
I think these leagues need to focus on players in the 18-24 year old range. Steal the talent from college, instead. Sure, some college players make good money with NIL deals at big schools, but not all. There are plenty of players stuck in the transfer portal or not interested in school who want to play. So go get them.
Bottom line: there is no unique talent angle for either league. The rules and the game system they have are great. But it all comes down to players. The original USFL was the most successful spring league because they didn’t give a shite about what the NFL wanted. The USFL/XFL needs to do the same with college ball.
And yes, I know about the three years out of high school player safety thing. Instead of limiting the younger players, I say age out the older ones.

Big fan personally. It’s basically a mix of NFL and college but with a few new rules added

I hope it does well. The Battlehawks opened the upper deck to meet the ticket demand.

If it’s on and I remember, I’ve been watching it. It’s not bad. Seems like better spring football than I’ve seen in recent memory.
