Did Godell make him say that?

It's obvious that he grabbed him slightly. However, that happens on literally every single play in the NFL.

It wasn’t a terrible call, he did affect the receiver’s route and may have been beat if he hadn’t grabbed him. Chiefs also still win if it wasn’t called so I don’t know why it’s such a huge storyline. I’m not a chiefs fan either

Lol, wonder how much he got paid to come out and defend the shield. In no world was that even close to a hold, unless like someone else said you are going to call that on every play where the defense plays man. You bootlickers are having a hard time this morning.

Bro every single passing play a holding or pass interference could be technically called.. As a ref you don't let them play the entire game and then decide to throw a flag on a very ticky tack call.. There is no denying the ref changed the potential outcome of the game.. I am not saying the Eagles would of won, but they would of gotten the ball with close to 2 minutes left and a timeout down 3. I went back and quickly found 5 no calls that were just as bad if not worse. As a ref you swallow your whistle in that situation

I think there was holding, but not enough to throw a SB changing flag on it.

No one is disputing the fact that there was a jersey grab. However, I think what pisses off the casual fan is the fact that it something of a "blink and you'll miss it" kind of hold, that it occurred behind the line of scrimmage, and that the ball was nowhere close to being catchable (though this last one doesn't really matter in the case of defensive holding). That kind of holding happens on just about every pass play involving man coverage. The refs usually let it slide. However, this ref decided to make it THE play of the game. Virtually no one wants to see a Super Bowl decided by a penalty like that.

Funny how it use to be just the LSU fans that bought into the kooky football conspiracies, now it's pretty much the whole Rant when things don't turn out the way you want them to.

Whenever someone picks out a single play like this I already know they have no idea about the 80+ other plays and if something similar happened during those.
Like how many other times were they held? Or how often were Eagles receivers held and no calls?
Aside from coaching staffs, I cannot imagine people bother reviewing every play - but they’ll pretend to be experts anyway.
