Intentionally for some, yeah. In the case of Reed, this is a clear promotion for him. It’s the next step in his career and Gus’s program makes it a nice landing spot.

Someone suggested that was a sinking ship. Maybe, but he just signed a new deal last year. Don’t know if the big12 transition will raise the stakes but Reed getting canned after a few years with everyone else won’t hurt him in other jobs. These guys always land on their feet

I'm holding out hope White or Brown show us something. Hell, I'll even take a few full games of Holden to see if he has anything.

I've seen enough of Thorne. If it's Thorne, I'll cry.

Who are our QB targets for 2025?

Ummm…no. He has not looked good any time he’s come into a game.

Why are yall acting like this isn’t a promotion? I don’t think he was told to look elsewhere.

My expectation in this regard is pretty simple. If we can’t find a QB who can escape the rush and roll out and make throws on the run, it’s not going to work in Freeze’s offense.

Implying Freeze will be gone.

Hugh brings in the recruiting class that’s it’s shaping up to be there’s zero chance of that.

I guess his argument is if we tank again this season, players lose hope and start bailing. Which could be true but I think it’s a very pessimistic view.

Juju Lewis just visited. 5* committed to USC but from Georgia. Reclassed from the ‘26 class.

People were feeling good about KJ Lacey at some point. Don’t know how the RW thing affects him. Texas commit currently. Plays at Saraland with RW

No

Implying that we will be starting over with a new QB if Thorne is the guy this year.

I swear some of you think what you want to believe.

Exactly. Clearly a promotion. On field coach and a chance to really blaze a trail recruiting off campus. Opportunity to make more money as well.

How did yall handle 4 years of Jason Campbell?

As a junior, Jason Campbell had negative rushing yards, 10 TDs 8 Ints, the same completion percentage as Thorne, and he had a great offensive talent around him.

I dont get why grown men cry like they do here.

Because of TikTok

I want it now mentality. No patience.

Granted I’m tired of losing as well so we need to start winning some games

Sorry, but the three QB's from last year suck arse.

Better hope White is a frosh sensation or we will suck again.

No, mostly because in this century, Bama has won 6 titles and played for 9, Georgia has won 2 titles and played for 3, LSU has won 3 titles and played for 4, Florida has won 2 titles.

We had 1 great season and got screwed (2004), one season with a generational QB and DT who willed us to a title, and one season of utterly magical bounces where we came up empty. 23 years is a long time in my lifetime and though winning one title and a couple of sex championships is nice as there are others in our conference who have not come close, it just feels a bit empty in spite of all the promise.
People are just starved for seeing some consistent success especially with the elephant in the state and I understand why one can be jaded.

I just try to put it in perspective and be positive because who know how things will turn out. It took us 53 yrs to win another title, it took Georgia 40 years to win their two etc. so I am not planning to go grow old bitter about the success or lack there of in a football program while there is a lot of other things to do, travel and enjoy in life. I certainly do understand the other side though.

For someone that sometimes claims has close connections to the program your questions surprise me.

Nope I have never claimed I had close connections. I do occasionally get tidbits here and there and when I have high confidence, I post. I don’t post about specific recruits, because no one can predict what will happen.

I am right about TR, the myth is he is a great recruiter. He is involved, but there is a reason Hugh hired the guy from LSU. He had no experience before Auburn.

Trovons role did not give him ample opportunity. That will change with Gus and this is a great opportunity for TR. Yes he went on the road for a couple of weeks but I personally do not remember him being mentioned by recruits.

Any example of players sad that he is leaving? Media post?

I think you are severely underselling the impact T.Reed, a former 5* recruit from a similar background as many of our targets, has had on over the years.

Maybe one day in the future someone will have to come on the rant and defend Ryan Williams, “he was a decent corner, but he didn’t live up to the 5* receiver hype.” One can always hope..
