It seems these states produce great talent, but what sets them apart from the northern talent or even texas talent. Is it the systems they play in or a tougher mindset?
I see all these texas teams loading up on five stars but can’t dominate like the schools from these states.
Not a knock on texas because we’ve gotten very good players from there but the players from these three areas are on a different level.
LSU has taken a step back but at their worst they are still a very tough program.
Just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this and I apologize if I’ve interrupted the realignment talk.

I think so much 7on7 in Texas, they don't develop offensive and defensive linemen as well

So two seasons, a fired coach, and it’s a step back…
So Arky, UTk, UTa, and everyone else must be in Egyptian times?

Don't forget Florida when you are talking about top High School talent

Development. Picking the "right" blue chippers. Team culture. Practicing ones vs ones. There's a lot more to it than bringing in a bunch of high starred recruits and then thinking you're done. Talent is important but it's only the beginning. Looking forward to seeing what TAM does this year with all those stars.

Texas HS teams adopted a softer brand of football.

Do we really need to point out the obvious?

Louisiana produces a ton of skill position players. QBs and linemen, not so much. This year is an exception at QB.

I have heard talk that Texas players are thought to be on the soft side. I have no idea if that is true, or not. I do agree with what you are saying overall.

Number of 2022 NFL Draft Picks by state where they played high school ball:
Texas (32)
Georgia (30)
California (22)
Florida (21)
Ohio (13)
Alabama (12)
Louisiana (10)
Maryland (10)
North Carolina (10)
Nick Saban has recruited the shite out of California, Texas, Louisiana and Florida. I think one year his national championship team had a defensive backfield entirely from Florida. Not sure what you mean.

Arguably the best quarterback, running back, and wide receiver in NFL history all came from the GREAT state of Mississippi.

New Orleans and the river parishes produce a ton of D1 talent. If the inner city schools of NOLA could have better programs they would produce more. Most of them have tons of talent but very undisciplined and because of that the get hammered by disciplined but less talented teams. The loosing causes a lot of kids to quit and take to street life instead. Miami is sort of the same but they have figured out how to have good programs and keep kids playing. Kinda off the subject some but just another example of what a shite hole NOLA is.
