He understands organizational structure and dynamics in collegiate athletics. That is encouraging to me. He knows how to build a competitive program. The challenge is doing it within the context of Louisiana culture and expectations.

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies.

And the football culture is something fierce down here. The mismanagement of southern culture would constitute strike two in a hurry.

Though we all have common aspects in our shared southern heritage, I will be the first to admit that Louisiana culture is uniquely challenging. He has his hands full.

Well, you obviously have no idea of what you're talking about.

Take the last 5 football coaches at LSU:

Curley Hallman - true southern baw. Was an unmitigated disaster.

Gerry Dinardo - Yankee. Brought the magic back to Tiger Stadium.

Nick Saban - Yankee. GOAT. Won championship.

Les MIles - Yankee. Won championship, second winningest coach at LSU.

Ed Orgeron - Southern cajun. Won championship, but still unmitigated disaster.

You think LSU fans are scared of having another Yankee as head coach? I'm more scared of getting another baw in there.
