I know you're a proud papa, even if it is the Navy. I kid, I kid...mostly.

An appointment to any service academy is alone, a tremendous accomplishment.

I wish him well. A life of service isn't easy and today's military makes it tougher.

Get through the plebe crap, find your rhythm and grind.

Good luck, young Rocky.

Inspired to go Navy by his GPops Auburn class of 56’, who was a fighter pilot/aviator.

Thank you and thank you to you all.

That's cool. My dad was a Vietnam Army helicopter pilot and I grew up near the "Cradle of Naval Aviation." That's how I knew I wanted to be in the Air Force.

Congrats to your son! Almost went that route but decided to do ROTC at AU. Did 28 total years in the Navy & Reserve...Also was lucky enough to fly. Have some fun visiting up there as it is a pretty place. Also some good sailing! Almost ended up teaching up there at their new Cyber program but timing didn't work out.

Congratulations.

I have family members in the military and appreciate the sacrifices they all make for all the rest of us. Thanks for your family being a part of something that helps make our country great.

congrats to you and your son. That is a big accomplishment and a great program he is going into.

Awesome thing about the Naval Academy is that the graduates get to pick their boat/sub/duty location based on class rank. Pretty cool tradition.

That is pretty cool. I am sure Hawaii, Italy, and so on are still the most popular destinations.

Congratulations! Annapolis will also be a nice place to visit your son. Lovely town. Who provided the Congressional appointment?

So as some may know, a congressman/woman can give an outright appointment or select 10 finalists and then the Academy picks the final one. So yes it was a congressional appointment but it was the academy that made the selection out of the 10 the congresswoman sent in.

Thank you BB

Thank you to the other well wishers also.

Congrats

My 16 year old wants to go to AFA. We visited in the Fall and he loved it. Sounds like that first year is pretty rough at any of those places though.
