The thing is we saw Bo going after our guys sometimes, telling them to "up" their games, but I doubt any of those guys felt unfairly picked on or thrown under the bus then or after the game. The guys are in the film room. They see how much mileage Bo had to run to stay on two feet. They saw his efforts to make things work.

I dont think Bo would throw the fans under the bus either... I think that is a contextual issue...

Right on que I see this. Bo can be that Auburn guy with cracks and this as well:

quote:

Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
Broncos center Alex Forsyth, who played with Nix at Oregon before Denver drafted him in the seventh round last year, raved to Denver’s coaches about his former college quarterback. Forsyth told the Broncos coaches that Nix is smart, knows every protection, handles it all at the line of scrimmage, and had the universal respect of the entire team.

He really excelled and cleaned up the bad parts of his game at Oregon. Also, everything behind the scenes suggests that he DOESN'T hate Auburn, just the crazy nature of how things played out when he failed. Hopefully things play out better for Juju when he commits;-)

That is just not true. Not everyone on here disliked Bo.

You said this in 2021

quote:

Yes I agree 100%. I really hate to see him go. He is different than a lot of players here. He is a legacy, he was a lifelong fan. I think he was always looked at as the 'coaches son" because of his dad. I dont like the idea of him leaving for anywhere. Its just the mentality of today

I said it before and I remain by it, I dont think Bo has NFL talent and I do not think he will ever play in the NFL and be effective. He just does not have that kind of talent. Its not coaching or his injury. Its just the fact that only a few people who play ever are good enough to be a effective NFL Qb. He is not one of them. Same thing I said about Stidham. Bo is a college QB at best and I think he could have done better than he did but he was never going to be a pocket passer overall.

I agree that he will probably never be welcomed at Auburn and I really cant blame the fans and allums. Dude quit on Auburn when they needed him. Plain and simple

Ah, you're right. I misspoke with that one. Does a solid 75-80% sound about right? Lol in all seriousness Bo had his supporters, but apparently the detractors had louder voices for (him) at least.

He started strong. He won me over with that first game he played against washington I believe it was. Dude gutted it out. I think he gutted it out his entire career until the end. I dont think anyone ever though eh would be a top 15 pick in the draft no matter where he played but Im happy for him. If he will be a good NFL QB remains to be seen. I put him in the same category as Stidham who I didnt like at Auburn though he was better than I gave him credit for.

Stidham has yet to really impress in the NFL. We will just see if Bo does but I always gave Bo credit for gutting it out. I was certinaly hurt when he quit but it was the right call. Who knows what went on with him and Harsin

I wish he'd talk about what happened with that clown from Idaho more. That would probably alleviate some people just blaming Auburn for everything that happened but maybe I'm asking too much.

He learned professionalism from his dad.

Harsin not getting him help is what happened though. Edited here

There was going to be more lickings without a sweet spot on the way.

Bo was absolutely trashed by the general fanbase.

Thorne has it easy compared to Bo and that’s saying a lot. Gus didn’t help him by saying Bo would deliver Auburn a championship. But who knows what happens if Covid never occurs. The 2020 season was the last of our sec winning records for a season. Then potato head came in and our roster became Boise lite.

I defended Bo Nix like no other on this website during his time at Auburn. As a general fan, knowing how his college career ended up and how professional he was through all adversity, I’m proud of him.

It was fairly obvious that coaching and a lack of a supporting cast hindered him during his time at Auburn. He had to endure being coached by Gus Malzahn, Chad Morris, Mike Bobo and Bryan Harsin for crying out loud - and his OL was hot, swamp arse during his time at Auburn.

I’m also glad he proved most of this fanbase wrong.

I didn't blame Bo because he spent most of his Auburn career running for his life with a turnstile O-line.

He did some amazing scrambles as a result.

Nothing more true could be stated… he was lined up behind a subtier sec talented O line and lead by a mediocre HC… can’t blame him for transferring when Hardin was brought onboard because it was only going to get much worse

Despite Auburn’s efforts, some guys just don’t gravitate toward Auburn. He seems to be one of those guys. Clemson, LSU, Bama all also seem to be on the outside looking in on this one

See how many of the playoff teams and highly successful teams have going in the draft?

We need to start getting some first and second rounders, that would help our recruiting a lot. As well as a high level of success on the field.

His brother being a bust so far at a mess of a program probably hasn't made Auburn look like a very enticing option.
