How funny will it be if the Kentucky hire is a bust?

It's crazy because there aren't many upgrades available over Cal, If they strike out on Drew they may be in for a downgrade.

We may come out of this looking like geniuses, while they may have some egg on their face.

Will Wade would be a monster there but they won't hire him due to ego.

When our search began I heard a little tidbit that Sankey is not cool with Wade being back in the SEC just yet. I have no way to know if that's true or gossip.

they are quick to bring out the 3 losses in the ncaat.

Scott drew has yet to make the sweet 16 after winning the national championship.

he will be in a final 4 within 3 seasons, Mark it...

Dude, this isn't usual homerism that I have. This is a verified plan by the donors, AD, and Cal.

so get this, the meeting tonight is for real with big money donors... but the push is to get normal fans (25.00/50.00/100.00) month donors to cover the original nil standards in Basketball and Baseball first... And convince more big donors to do football to begin with.

BTW by the end of the day today, they expect to have 3500 in the drive for 5000 met. fwiw...

I was referencing Kentucky's ego. They think they can go much bigger.

The stability of that program has kinda hidden how batshit insane that fanbase is. Good God this coaching search has been enlightening.

And now NIL has made it where the fans & to a larger extent the administration are a bigger factor on if a coach takes a job.

It seems Kentucky is its own worst enemy

LINK

Sources: BYU's Mark Pope is a candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Kentucky.

Pope was a member of the 1996 national title team in Lexington.

This surely is the Darrel Walker interview/smoke screen of their search cus if not holy crap that is hilarious.

I called this one. I knew if it got past Drew they were in deep shite. All their other choices were Phil Jackson level coaches that were never going to come.

Their arrogance ran off a coach that consistently gets the best talent, and goes dancing every year. Sure he hasn't done much in the dance in a while, but if he keeps doing what he's doing, he will again.

Why would any top coach want the headache of coaching there if they're already in a pretty good situation?

The KY boards are in full extreme melt trying to stop it mode. Posting the AD's personal phone number and several boosters numbers.

Not just that. I didn't realize until the last several days how well liked Cal is with his peers. They truly seem to like and respect him. Coaches talk. It's probably why we've had such a hard time landing quality FB coaches.

In basketball you can win a championship almost anywhere.

In football you basically have to be at one of the handful of programs accepted as capable of winning a championship.

Perception matters more in football.
