I’m not sure what this means or what it has to say about our football program, but we can draw a fairly significant line dividing our time in the SEC.

1992 - 2011
SEC Record: 74-81-2
.500 or better in the SEC in 12/20 seasons

2012 - 2023
24-73-0
.500 or better in the SEC in 2/12 seasons
Also includes THREE 0-8 seasons

We kid about our program running into the ditch with that motorcycle, but…. Yeah. Surely other factors changed around that time to contribute, but there’s no escaping 2012 is when ‘this’ started.

Just goes to show what hiring 4 absolute dogshit coaches in a row will do to a program and it's reputation.

It will turn you from a widely respected SEC west challenger every 5-7 yrs into Vandy in a decade.

Jeff. Long.

And more generally, the loss of Broyles. The fanbase under appreciated what Frank Broyles was to the program.

The fall of 2012 was my freshman year at the UofA so I’ve always assumed the decline is partially my fault.

Frank was respected by the money people, he was able to fund raise and still run the AD. But, he still was one of the jealous types who didn't want to see the program eclipse his own coaching accomplishments, the problema between good coaches and frank always started when a coach had a little too much success.

Nutt is responsible for giving the boosters power, politicing splitting the boosters into us vs them where each faction now feels they have a turn in pawning off the next shitty HC because he is their guy.

A prime Frank Broyles as AD was very good to Arkansas.

His insight from his days as the HC suited him well knowing the strengths and weaknesses of Arkansas football. That gives him access in the coaching circles that can help him make better decisions on his coaching hires.

Jeff Long never was a coach and had no clue. It didn't help that he was an arse.

Hunter Yuracheck doesn't have a clue either and hired an OL coach which a prime Frank Broyles wouldn't do. We saw in his later years that he did with Jack Crowe and that was the beginning of the end of Arkansas football.

But as he got older, his decision making got worse and worse. He should have retired much earlier.
