Arkansas tapped into a lucrative Texas high school football program to start the week landing a commitment from 2025 Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff linebacker Jayden Shelton. A productive defender who played at the heart of a SOC defense that reached the state finals in two straight years during his time on varsity, Shelton accounted for 119 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 2 interceptions as a junior.
Shelton emerged as a legitimate prospect as a sophomore and picked up 24 offers. Arkansas won out over schools such as Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, TCU, Oklahoma and many others.
