Same here, especially since we play a style like most NBA teams. That's why so many players want to play for Oats - he prepares them for the NBA. Yet, I see here all the time people hating on the NBA. They and the NFL have a regulated employment system, where players are under contract and can't just jump ship whenever they want. They can renegotiate contracts, but those contracts carry restrictions. I like how the pros run the business - and how they play the game.

The Athletic posted a Q&A with 3 of their lead journalists. One of the questions was to name the 5 best rosters in CBB. Bama and Kansas were the only universal picks.

Baylor, UNC, Houston, Duke, Gonzaga, and Iowa State were included in some but not all

NBA has a lot of things to like but this one is a miss. Players regularly sign 5 year contracts with a franchise they don’t intend to stay with and demand trades saying they’re unhappy. Anthony Davis and Paul George both did this 1 year into 5 year deals.

Then if they don’t get their way they conveniently have an ailment(Ben Simmons) or get so out of shape and play so badly that they kill their trade value(James Harden).

So you really aren’t any more assured of a player staying on your team more than a year at a time outside of their rookie contract.
