Yea, they knock out Kansas, Carolina, & Ky & still getting no respect from Vegas. It could be their factoring in Chuma being out. Regardless, their guards are smoking hott so probably a profitable bet.

think Auburn is gonna win the NC but Im gonna be cheering against them/trying to jinx them every step of the way.

I know I say I want Alabama to improve but even I draw the line at NCs

I'll be happy for this board, they players who worked for it etc but not the wider fanbase

Similarly, F the Auburn fans who turn around and make this final four run about our rivalry. Too many fans would trade NCAAT runs for beating Bama and that's the shite that holds bball back

Auburn had the best team with Chuma. Virgina will be hard to beat without him, but the Auburn 2 guards are so quick and fast they just run circles around the other teams guards. No one can contain either one of them.

Gene, losing to Auburn in 17 was tough but we made the football playoff, winning it all, so no worries.
Auburn got swept regular season by Ky, heart breaking loss at home, but the one that matters they got yesterday.
I look forward to our rilvary in basketball being amped up with 2 competent coaches on each sideline.

I know it's probably too early to know how the staff will shake out, but it's certainly interesting that Ya made the trip and not Pelphrey. I figured Ya would be the one that would definitely be out of the running.

Yeah, I didn't expect him to be in the conversation either. But then, I realized I really don't know anything about the dude, good OR bad. I think the last time I heard anything about him, he was joining the Alabama staff.

Someone on the FB basketball board said Kira will announce he's coming back today and that Watford will be coming to Bama. Take it with a grain of salt as always, but encouraging news still.

Note: Watford not announcing today he's committing. Just that his source told him Watford will commit sometime this month.

If I had to bet, I think both of those are true. But, you can lose a lot of money betting.

Is the person that posted this someone that's an idiot or actually right every once in a while?

I 100% think that poster is full of sh*t.

I lean towards it being the truth, just that the poster doesn't know sh*t

He was right on Petty coming back and Avery leaving. Also was right on Hawkins committing and Oats going to visit Kira's parents.

Like anything on the internet - wait until it's official.

For anyone still questioning the Oats hire I give you this. Chris Beard has been in D1 as a head coach for 4 years now. Let that sink in.

Everybody is saying UVA will beat Auburn. Nobody wants that more than I do (sorry Gene) but Auburn is exactly the type of team UVA struggles with. Auburn is built to score. They are going to pressure UVA to keep up and I don’t think they can. Don’t get me wrong, I know UVA is good and plays lockdown D. But nobody in the ACC can run the floor and pile up 3s like Auburn. They are UVAs worst nightmare. The Wahoos will slow Auburn down but that means Auburn probably only gets in the high 60s, low 70s. That’s a little beyond what UVA is comfortable with on the offensive end. They will be stretched to score more. If Auburn’s shots are falling, the Wahoos won’t be able to keep pace and Auburn will just out-offense them.

Depends on how long (in terms of shots, not actual clock time) Auburn is cold from outside. If they have a bad shooting half then UVA is going to boa constrictor them to death. If they are hot all night they'll boat race them. Anything in between it'll be a good, close game.

I understand what you’re saying, but I’d actually argue that Virginia is Auburn’s worst nightmare. Virginia is known to dominate the pace of a game and is 4th in the entire country in Opponent 3FG percentage. I think they’re going to force Auburn out of their comfort zone.

BAMA'S won 2 tournament games in 13 years.
Buffalo has won a tournament game 2 years in a row.
Oates is the guy that Tom Izzo himself told Byrne this guy is relentless in all aspects of coaching. A winner in all levels of coaching.
