Kopps in the exact form he was in against NC State would be the best pitcher on LSU's roster. Objective fact.

Smith is playing great this season. He will give Arky the chance to win it all

Maybe.

Thinking back, did Skenes throw only 2 games in Omaha?

But we gotta finish with a Title

Not this year. We just can't hit well enough to do much. It would not surprise me if we didn't make it out of the regional.

Postseason opponents are usually tougher starts. If Smith can hold that low ERA through postseason then he’ll have an argument.

It was the pitching last year and now this year it is the hitting woes all season. The previous seasons Arkansas had the bats but not the pitching.

LSU won it last year is not just with Skenes but leading almost all SEC statistical categories in hitting. Arkansas doesn't have that and they are really putting the squeeze on Hagen Smith to carry this team, Skenes didn't have to carry as heavy of a load. It is very concerning as the approach at the plate is poor due to swinging at bad pitches.

Yes. Rarely is a starter going to start more than 2 games in 9 days

Skenes pitched the opener against UT and then the semi-final game on short rest against Wake

He allowed 2 ER and 7 hits over 15.2 innings while striking out 21. He threw 120+ in both starts. He was “available” game 3 of the title series and warmed up but lsu never needed him with it being a blowout

Unless he gets help from the bats then Arkansas will not make it to Omaha.

The pitching began to collapse in the regional when Arkansas gave up 8 runs to NJIT. This forced DVH to get some of his better pitchers back in the game when those arms should have been saved for the next few days. Arkansas won the regional but it was a sign that the pitching was becoming unglued and DVH had to rely on Kopps more to the point that he became the starter in game three against NCST. However the bats got very cold and it put immense pressure on Kopps in a 2-2 game when he should have gotten more help from the bats.
