They have a brutal schedule next two years. UF drew the short straw when the SEC expanded to 16 teams.

Their AD had scheduled them a murderers row before expansion. No big program wants to admit it but when you’re in an actual rebuild (not just a new regime but rather building the program back up from the ground) you need to adjust your schedule to it. No one gives you any credit for losing to great opponents when you can’t make it to 6 wins.

This isn't true but it is funny as hell we've consistently beat UT even when we're a dumpster fire

Our dumpster fire was bigger. It frustrated our fanbase but Florida might’ve sucked those years but you still had a superior roster and as good or better coaching. Luck swung your way on those close dumpster fire games because of that.

As for now… I feel a whole lot better but it will be a while before the psychological damage is out of our system. That gives even a bad team something to work with against a rival.

Spurrier consistently said good things about Urban Meyer, too. The field is named after the man, he isn't worried about even great coaches hurting his legacy. No matter what happens Spurrier will be the face of florida football.

Stevie doesn’t like anyone getting more attention than him. He will be fine with any UF coach getting fired. He thinks it will make the Gators miss him more and talk about the good old days when he actually made them relevant for the first time in their entire history. Anyone who thinks he is devoted to UF only needs to remember how he walked out on UF in a snit right in the middle of recruiting.

The man has a Heisman as a player and a Natty as a head coach at FL. He doesn't have to worry about anyone surpassing him as the face of Florida football.

If Florida beats Miami, I think they are better than a coin flip to get to 6 wins and a bowl. If that counts.

Should he have said that Florida is going to suck and their fans should abandon all hope?

I think the over/under is 5.5, so easy money if you think UF doesn't go bowling.

You got to include Florida beating Tennessee.

I’m not retarded. I have a very good memory and I remember the outrage from the Gators when Stevie Wonder walked out the door like a petulant 3 year old.

I personally believe the Florida fans have some of the better fans on this site. Even ForeverGator policing Caw is admirable.

Florida is a sleeping giant that wont be asleep forever.

Other than the 90s and a couple of years in the 2000s Florida is what Florida has always been. At best a mid level SEC team. Right now they probably don’t qualify for that.

You're retarded because you are suggesting what Steve Spurrier says has anything to do with if Napier keeps his job or not, or that Napier's performance has any bearing on how much people like him.

If Florida does better than last season with that schedule, Sunbelt Billy might really be the guy.

I think 4 wins is their ceiling. And even that will take some luck

I didn’t realize he was coming back to coach. At his age.

Its prime location, their hotbed of recruits in Florida, and its overall sports journalism influence will keep Florida relevant for years. They will need to land a coach but after that I don't see the coach leaving.
