You recruit, develop & pay to keep elite talent in the trenches, especially DT, C, edge, OT’s & man to man skills. You also pay the QB room. Those positions give you a consistent core to build on.

Skill positions must be absolute game wreckers (Bowers, Julio in his prime, etc). If you have limited resources, overspending here creates a bottleneck for other positions of need. Plenty of serviceable backs, safety/zone DB’s & WR’s in portal.
