Hired in December 2022 when Aubie was 55th nationally and 13th out of 14th SEC in recruiting rankings. 3 months later he signed the 17th ranked class in nation and 4th in transfer portal.
Assemble Staff with what was available. Absolutely nothing to work with including coaches yet gave Hairy Dawg their most challenging game and we all know 4th n 31. He admittedly planned for Bama week before with NMS and almost pulled it out.
2024 number 8 class in country including flips from Florida, Georgia, Bama, Texas A&M. Coaches replaced including a legend. Addition of Vontrell King-Williams, Nix, Durkin, Crime. Staff on same page. Kent Austin working with QB’s.
2025 currently 10th in nation and in the thick of it for the top players in the country including the young man from Carrollton,
Hugh knows if he fails at Auburn his career is over. Therefore failure is not an option.
Aubie has given him free rein. It’s his program Zippy!
