The state of Georgia has the 4th most NFL players I believe and 0 in state competition.

I've always thought this was a silly and illogical talking point

Clemson, SC, Tennessee, Bama, Auburn, UF, and FSU are all directly bordering GA. Some of those are within a few hours' drive of Athens. Why in teh world does it matter that tech is the only "in state competition" when all the teams that regularly (used to more so than now I guess) beat us out for recruits are one state away?

I mean if you really don’t think there’s a correlation to growing up in the state and being surrounded by the largest and most popular state schools fans your entire life and staying in state to be close to family then I don’t know what to tell you. More recruits go to schools in their home state then go outside the state.

You should take a look at your roster. Even with Georgia recruiting outside the state for blue chips at its highest level of all time, the majority of your roster is from Georgia. As is with most large state schools.

The last few Georgia cruitin classes aren’t built on in-state kids as much as I thought they’d be.
