Will VHS ever be a tough place to play?

The next addition needs to be upper decks like LSU, AU, Bama, UT, ect. What we have now works but in comparison it’s not intimidating. Build several escalators that go directly to the top for msu and lsu fans.

idk if you know this... but when teams played in VHS the last two years... they aint had a fun time

Can you auto-populate 30k more home game attendees wearing red & blue? Maybe Oxford will be nice enough to build tent villages in the woods by the old Whirlpool facility so people could stay there. Oxford doesn't have the capacity for more weekend game influx so why make the stadium bigger?

I’d be ok not adding capacity but somehow reshaping things to hold 70K as well as contain the sound and being fans closer so it feels like you are on top of the field. Kind of like the Seahawks stadium. Would require a complete tear down im sure which is out of the question

A undefeated Ole Miss vs an undefeated LSU or Bama will fill up.

Yeah we don’t need it bigger we just need some design modifications. As it stands now, the sound goes up, we need it to go down. 65-70K ppl can make plenty enough noise. The stadium was just not designed with that in mind unfortunately.

Yes. With opposing fans.

I have put years and years of thought into our stadium, even some 3D modeling when I was in school. Here are my conclusions:
We need to have a stadium that is consistent with our campus and identity. Beautiful, relatively small (70k), and a great fan experience for home and away fans alike. Ole Miss is a destination game for many fans and our stadium should reflect that.
Recommendations:
Totally renovate the west side and add an EZ-EZ upper deck/press box. Eventually match the east side to be identical.
Key elements should include:
-An overhang that matches the South EZ and a large open concourse that starts at the pavilion and ends with you looking down the bowl onto the field.
-All bleachers should be converted to seat backs. This allows us to expand vertically without adding a bunch of seats, and it improves the experience for everyone. Student section can remain bleachers.
-Most importantly, the entire stadium should have a consistent theme. If I could have only one thing happen, this would be it. We will never be proud of a stadium that looks pieced together with no regard for future or previous expansions. We can’t be small AND ugly. If we need to tear down each side one piece at a time, so be it. Long term thinking is key.
-Lastly, a grand entrance on the north EZ from the grove would create arguably one the most stunning “front door” experiences in all of college football. Literally what we were originally promised in the original rendering.
They’ve got the right idea with the west grandstand, but this particular rendering totally screws up the lower bowl continuity. Look in the corner where west meets NEZ.
Right idea.
Above is the exact right idea with the main concourse, but with one fatal flaw. Look at where the grandstand meets the SEZ, they changed the grade and it ruins lower bowl continuity.
Finally, this is what we should be going for in the NEZ. Not some have baked awning above the student section like in the most recent renderings.
If we are going to do it, DO IT RIGHT. Create a comprehensive plan to FINISH the stadium.
We will never be the biggest, but we can certainly be one of the best. Verticality and a four sided overhang will put us right up there in the intimidation category.

Which big home game did we have an additional 30k available seating?

If we could ever convince the OnlyGroveFans to head inside the stadium, we could easily fill a 70-80k seat stadium. I say that because there's at least 20k that stay in the Grove during the games.

It's a tough place to play right now and I mean with 100% seriousness. Night games at the Vaught pose a tough environment for opposing teams - our fans show up, get loud, and buy in. I was at the LSU game this year, and my God that place was electric.
Make some stadium renovations to keep noise in and attract more patrons and we'll have a high-level football environment.
