Tyler Lockhart just committed. Top 150 LB.

I think he’s a top 50 type player.

Stout class so far. 10 commits, 7 are top 250 4*'s on 247 and On3's composites.

I’ve said it in before but Josh Aldridge deserves every dime of his money. He’s going to be a HC somewhere in the next few years.

In any case, we have not seen OL recruiting like this in years, yeeaarrs. Nice job.

Amen to that. Look what Bo Nix did when he had a line that wasn't a turnstile.

Back on like p10 or p12 of this very thread, people were calling for Thornton's job because we missed on some OL at the time.

I love this place.

ETA: Just went back and looked and it wasn't even a "miss". It was because LSU was being called the leader ahead of Auburn for DeBose.

No, I was just catching up on the thread and saw that post about how the OL recruiting has turned around under this staff and remembered some freaking out a while back.

The last half of the previous page was praising the OL recruiting.

Just a couple of pretty tame comments and mostly fair at the time I think. It goes to show how quickly things can change.

We'll see how this class ultimately shapes up after signing day but as constructed now with the guys we expect, Thornton will have done a good job with this class.

To be fair, last year’s Oline class outside of Deandre Carter was a disaster.

Yea, I think most were pretty reasonable with their assessment of Thornton. Dude has been a good coach so far, but the recruiting was TBD. This class was going to be kind of a make or break class for him. If he couldn't bring in a very very solid class this year, there would be problems. We look to be on the right path though.

I remember feeling unenthusiastic about Thornton and our OL recruiting at one time. It just seemed we were missing out on quite a few but is proving to be a very good recruiter.

Just shows it takes some time to build trust and pipelines and not always a speedy process. Same can be said for Auburn’s rebuild as a whole.

I am fine being proven wrong because the burden is heavy always being right and one I choose not to carry.

To be fair the 24 cycle was a weak OL group anyway.

Plus, OL are traditionally hard to recruit in one year. They tend to favor longer relationships.

4* and 5* linebackers are just the best.
