I expect some growing paints in December. It'll take a while to gel. We may win 105-50 one night and struggle another. Oats will get it figured out but let's not get too upset if we don't go 38-0.

Youngblood was a huge leader for USF. They can’t say enough about him.

USF fans really have been raving about him. He's a great pickup and perfect for what we do. The fact that he's a bulldozer is awesome. Because we all were sick of soft backcourt defense.

This board will be electric when we lose 2 of 3 in the super loaded Vegas Tournament

But one thing with transfers and the portal do prevalent... Nobody is developing players at the high major level. So every team will have similar early season chemistry issues. Some more than others. But it's not the major concern it used to be.

The new bandwagon fans that have never followed basketball will think the season is over the first time we lose. I predict lots of "streetball" and "live and die by the three" comments.

I wouldn't go quite that far. Development just looks different. These days it's less about taking a raw freshman and turning him into a savvy, reliable senior and more about quickly identifying, addressing, and fixing any bad habits your new players bring with them from high school or their last college program.

Just reading on the early season tournament in Las Vegas.

Alabama plays in the Players Era at MGM in Las Vegas.

A proposed non-conference basketball tournament seeks to expand Name, Image and Likeness money to a new level next season.

For that reason, some of the sport’s best teams may be extended an invitation. On3 reported that Alabama, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Houston, Kansas, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego State, St. John’s, Syracuse and Virginia are all on the list of potential participants.

The tournament, slated to be held in Las Vegas in November, will offer up to $2 million in NIL deals to the players that participate. The tournament is expected to host eight teams in 2024 and expand to 16 teams in 2025.

According to On3 sports, each team invited would get a $1 million guarantee in NIL money, which would be shared either with the school’s collective or NIL arm. The money would be shared with the players for that team.

The tournament’s winning team would get another $1 million in NIL funding.

Anyone else deeply uncomfortable with this? Especially in a tournament being played in fricking Las Vegas.
