I was unsure of exactly how this NIL thing works. I suppose I still am. I can tell you a first hand experience; family member of mine has a son, going into his sophomore year and took a visit to an unnamed SEC school this past weekend. Before he went, he opened up an NIL bank account. When he got back home this weekend, that account had 19K in it and he had an offer. If this is how it goes for everyone, this is absolutely wild. He has another visit with an SEC West school next weekend, with a head coach we are familiar with...ill try and keep y'all posted on how that one goes. He is a Bama fan, lifetime Bama fan; so if we offer, I would say he would be there.

Alabama is expected to add a commitment from Michigan State transfer Geno VanDeMark. A 6-5 320 interior OL. Alabama OL coach Chris Kapilovic recruited him to MSU. So there was a prior relationship here.

Deshawn Jones, Geno VanDeMark and King Mack should round out the roster.

I’m not sure how this transfer portal works, but DeBoer seems to have had success at Washington with it. My guess is that there is better intel on college guys: do they work hard, go to classes, etc. The guys we’re getting have a few years of eligibility left. They must know they won’t be starters. They are more like journeymen.

The NFL drafts kids like this in the higher rounds.

I believe he can play tackle but has played guard/center primarily.

Now we can have some real competition at CB and not have to depend on the freshmen to hit the ground running.

2 guys in the secondary with experience, best kicker in the country, and getting proctor back, anything after that is gravy

Really wish we could get a bigger body receiver with some starting experience.

Agreed but I still think the receiving corp is relying on Williams and/or Odom being ready to contribute to be championship caliber. Besides, of course, quarterback play progressing from the 2023 misfires. I don't think Prentice is likely to be that compliment and Law is probably more of a gadget player than a complimentary receiver. Hale, at best, will play late this year and possibly not at all.

2 S and 2 CB with experience. Really like the way this transfer group has come together.

Seems like we are going smaller at the safety position with the first transfer and now hopefully King.

I feeling has less to do with size and more ability to play multiple roles in the scheme.

Everyone is going to downvote you, but you are entirely correct. They won't agree with you until after the season because they don't want to admit it to themselves yet, but this is the least proven group of receivers we've had since Saban took over.

-Bond was ready to break out nationally, but couldnt wait to cash in on his offer from Texas.
-Bernard is just a guy so far based on his film.
-Hale flashed WR1 potential, but he's off the table for this year.
-Law is a complementary guy, not a feature guy.
-Prentice has been middle of the pack his entire time in Tuscaloosa.
-Henderson is a complete unknown despite being a Jr
-Williams has WR1 written all over his film, but will he be ready to be featured year 1?
-Does Odom count as a WR? He could be "that guy", but he's also a TF

Who out of that group requires a double team? Who is a one on one matchup problem week 1?

Doesn't mean we can't win big without one, but it sure would be nice to have an established playmaker for Milroe to lean on in clutch situations.

I do trust DeBoer's system to elevate mid tier receivers more effectively than we've seen since Sark left, so perhaps a bunch of solid contributors will be enough? Time will tell.

I personally like the smaller guys. Like King we haven't a guy in the back end with that much speed since Eddie Jackson I think.
