Very true, and also annoying. They think because Alabama the team/program has seen historic success that somehow bleeds onto them personally.
"Alabama football is a champion, therefore I am a champion." is a real sentiment they feel.

Did Brian Kelly literally not just have a portal guy win the Heisman for him? We got lots of impact portal guys in the 2022 class and it resulted in an SECCG appearance. Kelly has done fine in the portal. Obviously no one is happy about the terrible condition of our interior DL and that does fall on the head coach, but we’re also not gonna pay a mediocre 1 year guy $600K when a guy like Harold Perkins is making significantly less.
