LSU misses out another top defensive tackle transfer target

I thought that LSU got the best DC and DL coach that can get any DL player.
LSU struck out twice. Both Damonic Williams and Simeon Barrow Jr. went elsewhere. LSU paid a lot of money and failed to get one of those two top DL transfers. Yikes!

That isn't the point! Does that main LSU overpaid their DC/DL coach that couldn't get one of those two targets.

It's precisely the point. Look, it's clear from your posts that you are slow, but when a transfer player is asking for more money than everyone else on your roster you don't cave to that. It's going to cause locker room issues, current players asking for more NIL and ultimately transferring if they don't get it. We all saw the cluster that ensued at A&M after they bought the "greatest recruiting class of all time."

We paid 1.2M for a DL coach, we’re not paying 1.5M for DT with a total of 2 assisted tackles against his only 2 ranked opponents last year. That math doesn’t work.

LSU was in need of a good DL player and couldn't get one of those two players. The point is LSU paid a lot of money for two coaches to get some top players and that is not looking good for LSU right now. So why bother trying to get them if you can just coach up an average to good DL players that are already on the team and/or in the transfer portal.
Also, LSU fans were saying they can get any players from the transfer portal or from other teams. Now you are seeing that isn't happening now or near the future.

I partially agree that Baker and Davis should be an attraction, Kelly said himself that he wanted DTs.
He didn't say he needed 5 stars, but he didn't say, "i need some meaningless backups" either.
I asked the R earlier how much Bama and OM paid for Overton and Nolen. Haven't gotten an answer quite yet, but some think they got less than 1.5 mill apiece.
It's not optimal.
