That’s ridiculously good. But don’t get stuck in the Mike Martin FSU zone.

Would love a national title for DVH but it’s nice to also be a consistent winner.

You look around the league at the different programs, and just winning consistently is very hard. DVH has been at Arkansas since 2003 and has missed the post season just one season. I’m not counting, but there’s no telling how many coaches combined that State, South Carolina, aTm, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Texas, etc. have been through in that same period.

DVH just wins and it’s spoiling to a fan base. It slightly worries me on the next hire and if that coach will keep the program winning. Arkansas as a program has had just two coaches since 1970. Which is crazy as well.

I’d obviously take a national title…but I like being a consistent winner each year as well and always being in the thick of it all.

Great credit DVH. Arkansas has been consistently good. Winning Regionals/SR’s/CWS is really hard. As we all know, in a weekend a number of factors can dictate who wins and loses. Bianco at OM is a parallel to DVH. Consistently good for a quarter century and most likely his fifth or six best club won the CWS.
State has had half a dozen teams that were better than our 2021 team and none of them won a Natty. Two-three of them did not make it out of a Regional.
Arkansas will eventually win a NC. When you keep putting yourself in position to win, it will happen at some point.

FYI. Since 1958 A&M has had 4 coaches

Chandler 1958-84
Johnson 1985-2005
Childress 2006-2021
Schlossnagle 2022-present
