Oh I agree that 8-9 teams are getting bids. But this group of six teams have a lot of pressure on them. Two of them are right at .500 overall. The margin for error is very small. LSU has come off the floor from the 8 count. But they still have work to do. Lose today and 12-18 record kills your RPI. A win today is a must. And OM is a weird team. They seem to win games that they should lose.
We will see how it goes today.

Alabama is going to get swept by the worst team in the SEC and go from a 2 seed to out of the tournament completely. And everyone wonders why Alabama fans can’t get behind Alabama baseball more than they do.

No doubt today is huge for LSU but I feel like Florida and Ole Miss have just about taken themselves out of it with their overall record. I have a hard time seeing Florida get in if they are only 1-2 games above .500 with a conference record below .500. Ole Miss the same thing. That’s why I think a win today almost locks LSU in even though at least 1 in the conference tournament would go a long way. It helps that one or more of Vandy, Florida, Bama , and SC are likely to lose today which only helps. I believe lol!

Florida and Ole Miss have the #1 & #2 SOS in the nation. So they just need to be above .500 overall. Depending on today though, that’s a tough task.

If either of them finish .500…then win round 1 in the SECt of single elimination, they would then need to make it to Sunday. Going 1-2 puts them both out. They’ll both need to at least make it to the semifinals of the SECt.

I don’t know if a top 3 SOS is gonna get them in if they are only 1 or 2 games over .500 with a below .500 conference record. Would like to know how many times teams with that resume have ever gotten in.

They both currently have 12 Q1 wins which is more than most teams in the NCAA so it will be a factor.

But again, if they both come out at .500 this weekend I don’t think it matters really. They won’t have a winning record.

If OM, LSU or FL lose today, then they will need to win the SECT to get a bid.
If those teams win today, then they will need to make it to Saturday or Sunday next week to get in. The margin is razor thin.
SC, Vandy and Bama are all in a precarious position. Lose today and the pressure is on.
Realistically three of the six will make it but winning games is going to be the deciding factor between now and next Sunday.
Start popping your popcorn. Going to be interesting to say the least.

Nothing against Vandy, but they haven’t shown anything to prove they’re deserving of a postseason bid.

Mizzou is the only team man enough to sweep Florida.

That's all I got.

What’s Kentucky’s lineup look like today? Curious to see if Mingione is playing for the title outright (and #1 seed in Hoover). It’s not really necessary because you’re at least co-champs no matter what. But if I was him, I wouldn’t want to share

We’re playing for outright, regular starting lineup and Moore is our regular Sunday starter.

That’s awesome. When we were in a similar spot last year, we played the midweek lineup and lost and had to share the title with Florida

Meh disagree that with a win today LSU still has to make it to the weekend but we will see soon enough. Might be moot after today anyway
