He was at 100 pitches through 6. No reason to potentially wind up with 140 pitches trying to get a no-no.

Exactly. Had he not had that one walk and was maybe perfect they prob would have kept him in

I understand the desire to let him see it through and get a no hitter.

But it was a smart play by the Pirates. If you don’t understand why, I don’t think any one here can help you.
