It’s easily one of the most beautiful college campuses in the US, and likely the most picturesque in Mississippi.

This sentence makes me cry for modern journalism.

Why? What's wrong with the sentence?

(I'm not saying that nothing is wrong with the sentence. I really just mean that I can't find the problem, and I like such things. I would like to be shown the error!)

If it's easily one of the most beautiful in America then why is it only likely to be the most picturesque in Mississippi? Wouldn't that be a certainty? If there are competing campuses in Mississippi then why aren't they mentioned?

There is no logic in that statement unless Mississippi is an entity outside of America known for many beautiful college campuses.
