I was on one of those state championship teams, and will be attending his funeral this weekend. Hopefully after Hartselle brings the blue map home.

Peyton Steele, UA commit, should be a good one for us coming in

Hartselle’s William Booth, AHSAA’s all-time winningest baseball coach, dies at 79

Yea, I remember in the early 90s Hartselle won the 5A title like 4 of 5 years.

In 1990 after pounding Athens by 10 runs twice, they beat my old high school team Chilton Co. 3-2 and 3-2 in xtra innings. That was like his 2nd title. Ever since those days they have had a great team.

We had one player (first baseman I forget his name), who played with the Yankees or Mets a few games, he played in Triple A until he was 30, very good 300 like hitter, but these ball clubs want a power hitter at first base, even in the 90s and 2000s.

RIP coach.
