This is true.
There is a better chance for the player to break 80 once tee up, but it does not make 18 shots easier. Most 10 foot putts are missed- by tour pros. Dispersion for a tour pro on a given shot is 3% when playing well.

My course - Pine Lakes Country Club - in Myrtle Beach is a par 70, only 2 par fives. From the Whites it's 6300 yards. The 12 par 4s average 382 yds.
The Blues are 6750.

If you were to substitute 2 of the par 4s for the average of the par 5s, it would be 6600 yards from the Whites. From the Reds its 5750 yards, so using my rough math, that would equate to ~ 6000 yards
