I'm in the same boat as you. I've been a OnePlus user for a while now and I'm on currently on the 8T as well. It's a solid phone with good hardware. Samsung and Apple phones are either nerfed via software or they suffer from hardware degradation over time. My OnePlus seems to keep chugging along after almost four years and still feels as fast as it was at launch.

Unfortunately my biggest gripe is OPPO buying OnePlus and taking over the OS development. The OS isn't as robust as it once was. They're also an ethically questionable company. Last year, many people (myself included) saw their 8T's randomly update despite having "automatic updates" turned off. We didn't even get a warning! We were all forced into OPPO developed software with no way of going back.

After my 8T bites the dust, I'm moving away from OnePlus and likely buying a "Nothing" phone.

Interesting. That's something to keep in mind. My biggest complaint is Google took away free video storage about the same time all phones started having 4k cameras so we're forced into some type of cloud pay plan.

Thanks allot google for making me so dependent on google photos. I dread the day I have to take everything down and move to a different solution.

agreed. It's buttery smooth. Only minor complaint I've had is the lack of wireless charging but given how slow that is I probably wouldn't use it much anyway.

Didn't realize it was only 4 years old! I'm not such a dinosaur after all!
