They wouldn’t be forced to sign it. They can refuse the money and play for free
A good life lesson to learn at that age is money comes with stipulations. This is no different than a NFL player signing a contract. If you want the big bucks you have to adhere to certain expectations

Or NOT play for free. As it were.
I hate the sitting out. It’s not in the spirit of competition and play.
