Quarterback is the weak link.
Thorne is a weak link based on last year's results. However, last year was a transition year and should be viewed as an outlier and not the norm for Payton. This is Thorne's year to shine!

When he was at MSU he was good because of the receivers around him- statistically speaking. Hopefully that translates to better play this year from him. I’m still waiting to see the production through the first couple of games before I get too excited for a better year.

He's got the tools, just have to see if he's got his big boy britches ironed. His choices are play fearless and make something of himself or play scared like last year and wind up the guy nobody remembers.
