I seem to remember looking at that when they first announced the format.

#5 gets a fantastic draw, arguably better than the Top 4 seeds, and certainly better (IMO) than the 4 seed.

Instead of a bye, you get a home game against someone like Liberty, who they should maul. Barring injury, they take momentum into the 4/5 matchup at a neutral field. If those teams are close in matchups, I give the edge to #5 for that reason.
If that was this past year and it's UGA, I see them building a head of steam and winning the tourney.

Not necessarily. The #4 seed is a conference champion who gets an extra week of practice to prepare for their opponent & that time to heal.
