Uncle Lou roasts Dean Legge on his G-Day take.

This is worth a good chuckle.

In that clip Uncle Lou reminds me of message board posters who go on the attack if any post is too "homerish". UGA football boards have a regular squad of hall monitors who make it their job to sniff out and squash overstated optimism, or in some cases any optimism. Not that I have a problem with "realism", but the obsession with disputing any hint of favoritism is absurd and seems like trolling to me.

Dean Legge sells his product to Georgia fans and many Georgia fans like optimistic commentary, Uncle Lou's derision notwithstanding. In this case, Lou's point is off base anyway because Legge wasn't trying to compare UGA's receivers to Devonta Smith and company. His statement was about how a team could approach success/greatness from a different direction than they had historically. Here's what he said.

quote:

I thought these receivers, man they definitely look like they could be pretty good and it makes you think about the Alabama team in 20, you know, that like maybe this team isn't necessarily predicated on things that we've seen in the past from Georgia. I don't know.

I also watched the full Legge video after seeing Lou's. In context, it really did sound like he was comparing our WR room to 2020 Bama. Maybe he's just a poor communicator or maybe I'm just dumb.

One thing was accomplished though, Legge will get a lot more hits on his page now; Lou did him a favor.

Also, Legge comes across like a serial killer in the G-Day interview with Carson Beck. That's a fact that cannot be disputed.
