Thanks AA7.

Yeah, part of my glass half full take for the Chaney as starter route is that Jaylin, while highly productive, was kind of redundant with Broome.

On offense, both were essentially right shoulder hooks with a little pick and pop mixed in. Chaney can maybe integrate a little more seamlessly at the 4 as a lob threat and taking it to the basket off a ball reversal. But more importantly, might be easier to get the guards involved and have everything flowing when both of your best scoring threats aren't the 4 and 5.

Denver's numbers for the last 15 games:
11.7 ppg, 49% from 3, 51% from field.

Last 10 games:
12.5 ppg, 52% from 3, 52% from field.

Dude was a highly efficient scorer down the stretch and I think playing beside Pegues will help him.

I am not buying into this. Jaylin shot 39% from three with decent volume and had fairly nice advanced stats. He had a PER of 23 which is really solid. He was also a veteran that was more advanced in skill and nuance and knew how to score from all areas of the court. He had the boring kind of skill set down low but he had the werewithal to play batman and robin with Broome and both complemted each other very nicely. Jaylin's main issue was he played timid and didnt want to take over games. However, Jaylin actually had a higher FG percentage than Broome and that efficiency is going to be missed if we are dealing with raw Chaney

Chaney had a bunch of dunks against Georgia, shot 27% from three, 50% from two, and only averaged 4 ppg. There is no proof we are going to be able to satisfactorily replace Jaylin or his 12 ppg with another skilled 4 which sucks because the rest of the talent is stacked. I blistered a stupid fan yesterday because he said Chaney will be just as good as Jaylin so I await your response.

One reason why I blistered that stupid fan is because he said a transplant (which has proven nothing yet )was going to be just as good as Jaylin. Jaylin signed with Auburn in 2019 and doesnt deserve such a low blow. Jaylin, I will defend.

Denver getting more looks is key for this offense. He’s a baller.

Well, you stole my glass half empty take. My main concern is losing the Jaylin threat from 3 point range as I think it helped a lot with spacing. Don’t necessarily agree that he was a great scorer from all over. Had no game off the bounce. Actually think Chaney has more of an offensive “bag” and potential than Jaylin.. but yeah overall, extremely doubtful he touches Jaylin’s production. It’ll have to be a little more CBM, Denver, and some Pegues, Howard, Pettiford

I dont know why Denver wasnt shooting more earlier on. There were so many games where he was like 2-2 or 2-3 from three that I actually said he needed to start shooting more before he even got to shoot more.

Jalin didnt have much of a slasher role. But he shot 39% from 3 and was prett damn good from mid range and below the rim.

Jaylin has the deep and mid range game. Chaney has the bunny hops. Chaney might have more potential, but he would have to improve his shooting numbers a ton before he even hits 12 ppg.

We are so close to hoisting another trophy why are we struggling so much with the final chess piece?

It feels like Bruce is trying to make a stand on NIL funds, our first offer is our only offer.

All we need is a crafty veteran that wants to hop on for the ride.

It seemed we wanted to get Aden going.
Now he is going to Alabama so Denver can light it up.

Denver and CBM always looked more fluid than Aden, with and without the ball.

This will be addition by subtraction.
I am not a Holloway hater, but he did not live up to his hype.

Doesn’t change the fact we can’t get a replacement at pf or pg. Is Nil really that bad for Bruce?

lol

Nothing but love for ya smuph. Things have changed where the info may have been good and accurate right up until the final offer of NIL is made. Tough business in predicting right now.
