Most impressive newcomer of the season so far?

It’s between 5 guys in my mind:
Whit Weeks
Jordan Jefferson
Andre Sam
Logan Diggs
Kaleb Jackson
All of these guys have played their asses off so far. Sam has been the bright spot in the secondary. Weeks is a stud and plays like a veteran. Jefferson is a bull, Diggs is our best back, but Jackson may have the most potential. All of them are extremely impressive so far. Who am I missing?

Logan Diggs has separated himself from that group and the rest of the RB’s. Dude is a go time stud.

Jackson has looked pretty damn good in his limited opportunities.

I say Whit Weeks cuz he's doing this as a true freshman. He honestly might be one of our best defenders right now.

I really like Weeks’ tenacity. He’s been impressive.
Jackson too. I saw another poster compare his running style to Fournette and it’s not far off. He just needs to keep running after he trucks someone.

It's between those two IMO.

We are lucky to have all four.

No disrespect, love them all, but:

It's so good to have these guys emerge this year. LSU always seems to find a way to have young stars emerge from nowhere and fill in gaps we had in the team, especially on defense.
I think my biggest concern coming into this year, aside from the secondary, was linebacker depth and rotation. Especially after week 1, when Perkins was lost inside, it didn't look like we had enough depth there to move him back outside and pass rush. Now, with Weeks emerging as a valid option, it makes our defense much more complete, so I'd go with Weeks as the most valuable so far.

If broken down I would say as follows:
True Freshmen:
Whit Weeks followed by Andre Sam
Transfers:
Logan Diggs followed by Jordan Jefferson

I don't get the Andre Sam love.
Yes he plays with great energy and flies around the field which is great, don't get me wrong; but he seems to miss a lot of tackles. I know a couple missed tackles led to large gains.
I guess playing next to Major Burns is the equivalent of having ugly friends so you look better.

I know it's only been a couple of starts, but Weeks is my favorite Tiger in a while. He's living the dream of me as a teenager, but he's doing it IRL. Thoroughly impressed by his play and his attitude. The front 7 has a different energy when he's in there.

First, that math doesn’t math.
Second, it’s Diggs. He’s completely changed our ability to run the ball. Without him we’d have the same unreliable run game as last year. I love Josh Williams but the kid is very limited athletically.

tenacious, with the post of the week!
Youve stumped me. Seems like Sam is THE GUY at his position moving forward, but only time will tell. We should re-look at this after the Mizzou game.

I'd say Logan Diggs and Whit Weeks

Zy Alexander & Denver Harris
I mean, our secondary is the weakness of our defense, but imagine what it would be without them.

FYI Kaleb Jackson posted faster sprint times in high school than Aaron Anderson.
He will break one soon.
