When is the last time we had a coach at UF that couldn't get an 8-4 record at UF in his first 3 seasons? How about not even 8-4 in one of the first 2 seasons? It is probably over 50 years ago. There will only be 3 teams with more talent than us next season on that schedule as FSU will be taking a step back from this season.

When is the last time an upper level SEC program that expects to compete for SEC championships let a coach make it to year 4 with three straight sub 8-4 seasons? I can't think of one since 2000. By upper level team I mean UF, GA, AL, Auburn, LSU, TN, and A&M (since joining the SEC).

We are stuck with this guy for a while. Maybe he will be like Drink and break out in year 4.

I have to admit that today my support for Napier is beginning to waver. The reason is not wins and losses, it's what he told us he was when UF hired him and what we have actually seen for almost 2 seasons. He sold himself then and still does, as a process guy, with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, consistency.
What we have seen on the field is none of these attributes. The Gators are lost at times on the sideline, the same mistakes being repeated over and over, total lack of organization, no consistency.
I want him to succeed, the last thing the Gators need is another coaching change. Sticklin must get involved and demand the Napier hire a play caller, a special teams coach and possibly a new DC this off season or we will see the same next season.
If he can't or won't do this, he needs to go. Might as well make the chance, you can't do the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

I pretty much completely agree Matt.

I will say I think the DC could stay as he's young and should get some time to put in his system. He also needs more talent I think, which is a big part of the issues we're seeing on defense.

But Napier needs to let go of the offense a lot and focus on managing Armstrong and assisting him during games if he's going to stick with a young and upcoming type of DC.

Actually, even if he hires a vet he just needs to let go of the offense. Maybe he can work with the coordinator on the scripted series to start the game and second half, because he does well with those. Outside of that, he sucks as a Oc.

The offense scored 36 points Saturday which should be enough to win, but we need a Head Coach on the sideline. Napier seems to be way too involved as a play caller, than as a Head Coach, if not we wouldn't continue to see the operational errors that we see every game. During the game his is just another assistant coach. This isn't how he told us he would run the program.

When he announced that he'd be OC, I had this thought/feeling about it.

My issue with him being involved in the offense isn't that he isn't great at it. As you said, we scored enough points to win the game this weekend. It's that it's taking away from his HC duties way too much plus he isn't good enough at it to justify doing that, especially considering the operational gaffes we're seeing.

Maybe he’s just not good at multitasking.

I am actually with you. Are best players are very young and our opponents next year should be losing a lot of talent. The schedule is tough but nothing insurmountable for 8-4. It's not like you are predicting us to run the table and win the natty. We have to wait until 2025 for that

UM, Sam, UCF, Kent, FSU, Miss St, Tenn, T A & M, LSU, Ole Miss

There are 10 winnable games, UG, Tex will be tough.

Provided Napier makes the needed changes in the off season.

Brought my kids to the Arkansas vs. Auburn game here in Fayetteville. Get free tickets regularly through some work connections.

The gist of this is that Auburn started beating that arse from kickoff and is up 21-0 halfway through the 1st QTR. it’s just confirming Billy’s ineptness at this point. Arkansas is an absolute shite show. Losing to that bunch is inexcusable. As bad or worse than losing to Vandy. To be honest Vandy might win if they played.

Kenny Guiton is a joke, Sam Pittman is a candy arse, and we look like idiots for having lost. Poverty program. Ridiculous. A bye week should not make the difference, especially at home, but it did. I will not forgive Billy for this. I could have beat Arkansas myself. Pathetic.

Now 41-3 with 7:08 left in the 3rd.

Watched them suck growing up. Silver lining is I get to show them why being a Gator is better. But not if Billy doesn't pull his head out and see the light day.

I'm sitting in Kitten Stadium right now just wondering how bad the score will be at halftime here it might be 38-10 here at half
No way the gators come close to winning another game this season.

I'll say it will get blown tonight and the next 2 games 21-28 point losses tonight and the bext 2 weeks

And it pains me to admit it. But this is who we are this year!!! It sucks but let's hope we are better across the board next year!!!

Missouri actually plays a little defense now unlike LSU. Not looking good for that game.

I went to bed at Halftime, glad I didnt lose sleep watching this shite.

Armstrong can go, Ive seen enough of this 335 bullshite.
If Billy wont make big staff changes this offseason he can go as well.
The young starters talk dont cut it at this point, its game 10. Defense is fkn horrible and the offense just does what it does regardless of matchups ect. I didnt expect to beat LSU at home but to have our RB be our 2nd leading receiver in the game is a fkn joke.
Thier secondary is very bad, they lose a starter for targeting and as a playcaller you dont immediately go after that kid, wtf?
You shouldve made that kid quit football after going at him the rest of the game.

End rant, end of season. No bowl game this yr. Hopefully we keep the class together. shite needs changing
