The east was also beast in the 90s with Florida and UTk, and that was with UGA being down. Of course, Bama was on probation for a good portion of it; same with Auburn IIRC. LSU was a coaches’ carousel during that time as well.
ETA: how many teams won the west in that decade? I know Arky and MSST won at least once each.
