High School - Football (Alabama 6A state champion, nbd*) and Wrestling (could have won state but got hurt my senior year )

College - On some really, really bad intramural football and basketball teams at Auburn University.

*When I say nbd, I mean it. I was just an undersized pass rushing specialist

Anyone remember Planet X at Auburn? Well, I've had a dirt bike since I was 9 and thought I could ride. I had a Yamaha IT 200 @ AU and had it out at Planet X one day. There was a guy all kitted out and riding a nice bike. I thought, I'm going to keep up with this guy around the track. Yeah, nope. He dusted me and that's when I realized, I wasn't as good as I thought. Dreams of MX evaporated instantly.

IT200 Pick for reference-

We used to take our 4x4s out there and go under the interstate, thru the creek culvert.

High shool football. It we were winning or losing big with less than 2 minutes I would go in on either offense or defense.

Telling that to a high school coach in later years he told me to say, "I played both ways".

Therefore, in high school football I played both ways.

Late to this thread, but

High school wrestling, captain. A JROTC competition team called raider team (Obstacle courses, long runs stuff like that) I was also captain of that. Played a little football and was going to play baseball, but the coach was a dick so I decided not to. Last year of wrestling we had a new coach who didn't know anything about wrestling, so I was practically a coach that year too lol. I was way to small for any college offers though.

High School: Played every sport there was to play. Literally never took a season off.

College: played frat flag football and pick up hoops at the student act, and drank whiskey and chased pussy.

HS: Large stretches on crutches back when they'd actually remove parts or all of your meniscus.

Kept books in basketball, taped ankles for football, routinely bested the varsity QB in (7th period) flag. My key receiver was this guy named Warren Lyles who had basketball hop and hands. He played with for the Chargers for a couple years and was unstoppable against HS one on one. First learned what a top-shelf receiver brought to the game.

College - backpacked, bar hopped, and chased way too many skirts

(afterward) : Trad climbed for several years. North Alabama is great place to be a climber. And the whitewater good enough to have allowed surpassing Nick Saban's (n)championship numbers . Do slalom, freestyle (rodeo), and the occasional downriver. Natty's in all ...at least once. Just keep the kids honest these days.
