A realest? I’m sure we will send lots of players to the NBA. I’m almost positive we will be bounced first round in multiple tournaments just like Mike Anderson was with shittier players.
The dirty little truth is that single elimination tournaments have a huge chaos/chance factor. Mike’s team that should have beaten UNC in the second round easily could have made the final four and we’d think of his tenure in a completely different light.

Baseball isn’t single elimination but it’s just as arbitrary and cruel. Is it DVH’s fault that Carson Shaddy screwed up one time in a big moment?

What you judge a coach on is how often they put their team in a position to have great opportunities. Bill Self couldn’t win in the tournament until he could. Same with Jay Wright. Fans can’t live with that though so they try to fix something that isn’t broken.

Flip side is Muss could've easily gotten bounced early a couple times too.

Most of the time you need some luck to make a tournament run. And those 13/14/ even 15 seeds can be tough. We all joke when someone gets sent home by one of them, the truth is that Oakland team the knocked out Kentucky, playing like they did that day, would've sent home 90% of the bracket

Except he did win. But I don’t think that’s his ultimate goal. His ultimate goal is hanging pictures of kids he sent to the nba…

I could be in the minority since I don’t watch any pro sports, but after they are done here I don’t care. Is it cool to see them win after? frick yes. But also I kinda don’t give a frick. I however hope them all the best and hope they are supremely successful in all their endeavors.

He’s a salesman who figured out long ago that this public image of himself was his best angle. Don’t think he’s not a ruthlessly competitive sob like all great coaches. Everyone gets there a different way.
